Reducing High Blood Pressure Caused by Anxiety

Has anyone any good tips on quick reduction of blood pressure in response to anxiety and stress? My BP rises when I know I am going to have it taken, and also during times of anxiety, which is ongoing at the moment due to a relationship breakup.

Autogenics to Reduce Blood Pressure

Autogenic relaxation is a good technique to reduce blood pressure. By imagining that your hands and feet are warm and heavy, blood vessels open up, and blood pressure decreases. In addition, heart rate slows, which also reduces blood pressure.

A few minutes of deep breathing while imagining warmth and heaviness in your hands and feet right before you have your blood pressure taken might help.
