Relaxation Tip: The Top Three Benefits of Guided Imagery

Guided imagery is the process of being guided through calming or helpful mental images. This may include following along with a description of a peaceful place or calming scene, a healing process, or other guided images.

Imagery and visualization can be used to make positive changes in one’s life. For example, by imagining speaking in public successfully, it is possible to overcome fear of public speaking and actually speak in public more effectively.

The top three benefits of guided imagery include:
- A feeling of calm and relaxation
- Improved skills to deal with problems such as anxiety
- Enhanced learning and positive changes
